In Vivo–Ex Vivo Functional Pharmacology
EnquBio integrates in vivo dosing with ex vivo stimulation or challenge to determine how treatment alters biological function. These studies are designed to move beyond static biomarkers by measuring pathway responsiveness, immune-cell function, target-dependent activity and persistence of pharmacologic effects.
Connect In Vivo Treatment with Ex Vivo Function
This study format asks whether cells or tissues collected after in vivo dosing retain altered functional responsiveness ex vivo.
Go beyond static biomarkers
Challenge collected samples ex vivo to determine whether in vivo treatment changes downstream biological function.
Interrogate pathway responsiveness
Measure how treated cells respond to defined stimulation, restimulation or target-dependent challenge.
Assess persistence of pharmacology
Compare functional activity across collection time points to study persistence, recovery or rebound.
Questions These Studies Can Address
Immune Responsiveness
Does treatment alter the ability of immune cells to respond to ex vivo stimulation?
Pathway Responsiveness
Is a signaling pathway suppressed, sensitized or otherwise altered after in vivo exposure?
Target-Dependent Function
Does modulation of the target translate into a measurable functional change?
Duration of Effect
How long does altered biological responsiveness persist after dosing?
Typical In Vivo–Ex Vivo Workflow
In Vivo Dosing
Treat animals using the planned pharmacology study design.
Sample Collection
Collect blood, immune cells or tissues at defined time points.
Ex Vivo Challenge
Stimulate or restimulate the relevant pathway or cellular function.
Functional Readout
Measure cytokines, activation, signaling or target-dependent function.
Integrated Analysis
Interpret functional effects with exposure, dose and in vivo biology.
Representative Readouts
Need to know whether in vivo treatment changed biological function?
We can design an integrated dosing, sample-collection and ex vivo challenge strategy around the mechanism you want to test.
